Domaine de Fonsalade
Domaine de Fonsalade is situated three kilometres from the village of Causses et Veyran on the Mediterranean plain adjacent to the Orb Valley and close to the rugged and picturesque Languedoc National Park. Our home is in the middle of a vineyard and it shares the Domaine with just one other property which is owned by the vigneron who produces several good red wines and a very pleasant rosé in the St. Chinian appellation.
The House
The house is a spacious converted barn which was originally built to house the vineyard workers. It now has a large well equiped kitchen/dining room, a substantial lounge and seven bedrooms together with three bathrooms/en suites. There are plenty of areas within the property to relax and that includes a cinema which has English TV!
The Garden
The garden at Fonsalade is set out in a Mediterranean style and is a little under three quarters of an acre. It has fantastic views and overlooks the vineyard on one side whilst being secluded and private. There is a substantial lawned area, beautiful trees and shrubs within the grounds and a twelve meter heated swimming pool with a cover which can be fully retracted for the summer months. There is a substantial patio area which is fabulous for barbeques and outdoor eating.
